Central Prison, Nizamabad

Prior to its present location and building, the prison was situated at Quilla (fort), known as Quilla Jail. In 2007, the jail was inaugurated as a District Jail with a modern prison hospital having a capacity of 20 beds for sick prisoners. The jail is also equipped with security blocks for high-risk prisoners. Recently, in 2022, the District Jail was upgraded to Central Prison Nizamabad as per G.O. Ms.No.73 of the Home (Services.V) Department, dated 29.12.2022. Subsequently, additional posts were sanctioned, including Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, Office Superintendent, Jailor, and Assistant Deputy Jailors.
