Grievance Redressal System
The prison institutions are administered in a fair and just manner. Grievances and complaints are promptly addressed by Prison Officers at all levels. Prisoners have the liberty to express their grievances to Institutional Officers, Inspecting Officers, and visiting Judicial Officers.
Complaint boxes have been installed in all prisons and are opened once a month by the Secretary of the Legal Aid Services Authority. The keys to these boxes are held exclusively by the Secretary. Additionally, prisoners are free to send representations to the State Human Rights Commission, National Human Rights Commission, and other courts through the Superintendent.
Senior officers visiting the prisons ensure a fair hearing of prisoner grievances. Visiting Committees are also constituted in many prisons to address various institutional problems.
Important Instructions:
- Include your full name, address, and mobile number in the complaint.
- Anonymous complaints will not be processed.
- Ensure that your complaint is clear and provides necessary details.
